Long before she became a familiar face on reality television, Paige Turley was a talented teenager with a dream of becoming a professional singer.
In 2012, at just 14 years old, the Scottish performer stepped onto the Britain’s Got Talent stage, hoping to impress the judges with her voice.
Years later, millions would recognize Paige as the winner of Love Island’s first winter series in 2020. But back then, she was simply a young girl determined to make her musical dreams come true.
For her BGT audition, Paige performed “Skinny Love,” a song originally written by Bon Iver and famously covered by Birdy.
It was an ambitious choice for someone so young.
But as soon as she started singing, her distinctive tone and emotional delivery caught the judges’ attention.
Rather than relying on dramatic vocal tricks, Paige brought a natural sincerity to the performance, showing confidence and maturity beyond her years.
Her audition earned her positive feedback and a place in the next stage of the competition.
Paige eventually reached the Britain’s Got Talent semifinals, gaining valuable experience performing in front of a national audience.
Although she didn’t win the show, her television journey was far from over.
Eight years later, Paige entered the Love Island villa in South Africa, where she formed a relationship with Finley Tapp.
The couple went on to win the 2020 winter series.
Looking back at Paige’s original audition is a fascinating reminder that some reality television stars were already chasing their dreams long before they became famous.
Before the villa, the romance and the television fame, there was simply a 14-year-old girl with a microphone and a beautiful voice.
