Matty Juniosa already had something extraordinary to live up to when he returned for the Britain’s Got Talent 2026 semi-finals. Earlier in the competition, the Filipino singer had earned Simon Cowell’s Golden Buzzer, sending him straight into the live shows. Now, with a place in the Grand Final at stake, he needed to deliver all over again.
Matty chose an enormous challenge: Aerosmith’s legendary rock ballad “Dream On.”
Rather than simply copying the original, Matty turned the song into a dramatic showcase for his own voice. By the end, both the judges and audience were on their feet. Alesha Dixon described the performance as “effortlessly sensational” and praised it as a masterclass in delivering a great vocal.
Then Amanda Holden decided applause wasn’t enough.
She slammed her Golden Buzzer, covering Matty in gold and sending him directly into the Grand Final. It was an especially remarkable moment because Matty had now received two Golden Buzzers in the same BGT season—first from Simon and then from Amanda.
Taking on “Dream On” is risky for almost any singer. Matty didn’t just survive it—he turned it into the performance that secured his place in the final.
