When two adorable 8-year-olds walked onto the Britain’s Got Talent stage in 2008, nobody expected them to become finalists.
Meet Krista Hyatt and Charlie Dixon, better known as the Cheeky Monkeys.
The young dance duo immediately charmed the audience with their personalities and matching enthusiasm. Performing to “Shout! Shout! (Knock Yourself Out),” they delivered an energetic routine filled with synchronized moves and playful tricks.
But the judges weren’t entirely convinced.
Simon Cowell criticized their choreography, while Piers Morgan felt they weren’t quite ready for the competition. Fortunately, Amanda Holden believed in them, and Simon ultimately decided to give them another chance. And that decision changed everything!
The Cheeky Monkeys returned for the semifinals with a performance to Mika’s “Lollipop.” This time, their improvement impressed the judges, and they secured a place in the grand final.
Their journey proved that even the youngest contestants can surprise everyone when given an opportunity.
