She initially appeared to be any anxious adolescent placed in a brightly lit studio. She acknowledged that she was afraid as she stood in front of the judges and a sizable live audience at the age of 14, grasping the microphone with both hands. The room was filled with skepticism, as seen by the courteous smiles, raised eyebrows, and silent anticipation that this might be “just another” unsuccessful audition.
