When 12-year-old Fayth Ifil entered the Britain’s Got Talent stage, she appeared to be just another kind, somewhat reserved schoolgirl. But you could sense something remarkable was about to happen when she began discussing how many had questioned her and how much she wanted to inspire others.

For someone so young, it was an enormous song, but Fayth didn’t just manage it, she owned it.
Her voice already sounded much older than her years when she started out slowly and soulfully. Fayth went into full performance mode with huge vocals, big energy, and big attitude as soon as the speed picked up. She never missed a note, worked the stage like a veteran, and danced. In a matter of seconds, the audience changed from being intrigued to completely enthralled.
Before she had finished, the judges were on their feet. David was bouncing along, Amanda and Alesha were smiling, but Simon was the center of attention. He didn’t even pretend to consider it after the final note. As the crowd screamed and Fayth’s family sobbed with delight in the wings, he reached forward and shattered the Golden Buzzer, showering her with gold confetti.
In a single song, Fayth transformed from a small child who had been denigrated by others to a Golden Buzzer performer who had the support of the entire nation.
