He Brought an Accordion on BGT… Then Turned a Disco Classic Into a Total Crowd Explosion

When Scottish musician RuMac walked onto the Britain’s Got Talent 2025 stage with an accordion, you could almost feel the room wondering what was about to happen. The accordion isn’t exactly the “coolest” instrument in most talent shows — and that’s exactly why his audition caught everyone off guard. He chose “Yes Sir, I Can Boogie” by Baccara, a disco classic nobody expected to hear like this.

From the first few seconds, the whole vibe changed. RuMac didn’t play it safe or traditional — he attacked the song with swagger, speed, and a huge grin, turning the accordion into the star of the stage. What could have felt quirky turned into something genuinely electric, with the crowd clapping along and the judges quickly realizing this wasn’t a novelty act at all.

By the time he hit the big chorus, the theatre was fully with him. The performance had that perfect mix of skill, fun, and “I can’t believe this works so well” energy that makes an audition instantly memorable. RuMac took an instrument people often underestimate and made it feel bold, modern, and impossible not to enjoy.
