When Donchez Dacres stepped onto the Britain’s Got Talent stage in 2018, nobody expected the 60-year-old performer to become one of the season’s most entertaining contestants.
Originally from Jamaica, Donchez arrived with an infectious smile, endless confidence and a song that would soon have the entire audience dancing.
His mission was simple: make everyone happy.
For his audition, Donchez performed his original song, “Wiggle Wine,” a catchy reggae-inspired tune accompanied by his hilarious signature dance moves.
From the moment the music started, the atmosphere in the theater completely changed.
Donchez began singing and demonstrating his unforgettable dance, encouraging everyone to join in.
And they did!
The audience was soon clapping, laughing and moving along to the infectious rhythm.
Even the judges couldn’t resist the energy.
David Walliams was particularly delighted by Donchez’s performance, while the other judges enjoyed the cheerful atmosphere he created.
But the biggest surprise came when David decided that simply voting yes wasn’t enough.
He reached across the judges’ desk and pressed the GOLDEN BUZZER!
Golden confetti exploded across the stage as Donchez celebrated one of the biggest moments of his life.
The Golden Buzzer sent him straight through to the live semifinals, where he continued spreading his infectious energy.
Donchez eventually reached the Britain’s Got Talent 2018 final, proving that his unique combination of music, comedy and personality had won over viewers across the country.
His audition became a wonderful reminder that talent isn’t always about perfect vocals or complicated performances.
Sometimes, it’s simply about making people smile.
At 60 years old, Donchez showed that you’re never too old to chase a dream—or make an entire theater dance!
