My boss has been having an affair with the intern, and honestly, I’m beyond done with it. I’m already planning to leave this job, and I’m sick of being dragged into his lies—covering meetings, making excuses, pretending I don’t счита that I know what’s going on.
His wife calls the office all the time. She’s always suspicious, always asking where he is, and I’ve had to play the “helpful employee” role and dodge questions like it’s part of my job description. But that day, I’d had enough.
So when she called again—same routine, same questions—I didn’t sugarcoat it. I snapped and said, “Why don’t you come by and see him with the hot new intern?”
I expected screaming. Tears. Rage.
Instead… she laughed.
Like, genuinely laughed—calm, almost amused. Then she said, “Oh, darling, I know. She’s my employee. I paid her to seduce him.”
I just sat there holding the phone, completely stunned. I didn’t even know what to say. My brain was trying to catch up, like I’d stepped into a movie plot without warning.
Then her tone shifted. She went quiet for a second, and when she spoke again, her voice dropped to a whisper: “I want you to quietly take a few photos of them together. Trust me… they’ll be very useful for the divorce.”
I felt my stomach twist.
I ended the call and just stared at my screen, shocked at how casually she said it—like this was all a plan she’d been running for a while. But there was no way I was doing that. I’m not a private investigator, and I’m definitely not risking my job—or my sanity—by collecting evidence for someone else’s marriage war.
Still, that day taught me something: you think you know the situation… until someone reveals there’s a whole other game being played behind the scenes.
